Personal Care Aide

This new 80 hour training program prepares students to perform various tasks in different settings including client’s home, long term care facility, nursing home, adult day care, or in a hospital.  This course provides instruction in interpersonal skills and qualities of a patient care aide, patient’s rights, safety, infection control, body mechanics, assisting special clients, nutrition, care at home setting including; client’s personal hygiene, transporting, feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing and undressing, serving meals and perform light housekeeping, client emergencies, and employability skills.  Throughout the course students will be taught to respect the client’s rights to privacy and dignity as well as respect consumers’ culture differences.

Class Fees:

This program will take 8 weeks to complete.  Registration Fee (per quarter) $50.00.   Additional costs:  Books  $73.00.  The estimated total cost including books and supplies is $158.00

Tuesday's & Thursday's

1st Session:  August 20 - Oct. 10, 2024

2nd Session:  Oct. 22, 2024 - Jan. 7, 2025

3rd Session:  Jan. 14 - March 6, 2025

4th Session:  March 25 - May 22, 2025

BPACE - Student Accident Insurance:

Student Accident Insurance is required for all students enrolled in Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, containing a clinical component and other programs with a safety requirement.  The fee must be paid each year of enrollment (July 2023 to June 2024 - $15.00)
