HOW TO EARN A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
Two methods of earning high school credits:
  • High school courses in a traditional adult centered classroom.
The adult high school diploma program is designed for students 18 years of age or older.
  • Online high school diploma self paced courses
Students work at their own pace under the direction of a teacher

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY
California has approved the use of two high school equivalency tests (GED® and HiSET®) for students 18 years old and older, and 17 years old in some instances, for the purpose of receiving a California High School Equivalency Certificate.  BPACE is an official GED® and HiSET® Testing Center and we offer free test preparation courses for both exams.  Our counselor will assist individuals who have questions about preparing for the GED or HiSET exam.

GED®
The GED® test is made up of  four (4) subjects, broken into separate exams. You don’t have to take all 4 tests at once - you can space them out however it suits you and go at your own pace. For more information or if you are interested in the GED test, visit their website at www.ged.com.  The test consists of 4 subjects (language arts, science, social studies and math).  Each subject test is $41 or $164 for the entire GED battery.  You pay for the test online with a debit or credit card when you schedule your test.

HiSET®
The HiSET® exam is made up of five (5) sections. Learn more about the exam, visit www.hiset.org. The exam is available to take in English or Spanish.  The exam is made up of five (5) sections (reading, writing, math, science and social studies).
