Barbering

This 1000 hour certified course is designed to prepare students for employment in the barbering industry including preparation for the State Board Exam.

 

Students will receive professional training in:

     • Cutting and Styling Hair
     • Skin Care
     • Hair Coloring
     • Men's Hair Replacement

Class Fees (Full-Time):

Registration Fee (per quarter) $610.00.  This full-time course is a 1000-hour program (3 quarters).  Additional expenses:  Barbering kit is $1,159.00 and includes the English text (Spanish books are extra cost).  Job Hunting Handbook $8.00.  Purchase is required.  Kits and uniforms are purchased the first day of each quarter by new students.  State Board test registration fee:  $125.00;  additional supplies $511.83 including uniforms.  Minimum order of 2 black BPACE T-Shirts per level.

BPACE - Student Accident Insurance:

Student Accident Insurance is required for all students enrolled in Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, containing a clinical component and other programs with a safety requirement.  The fee must be paid each year of enrollment (July 2023 to June 2024 - $15.00)

 

Financial Aid:

Financial Aid services are available.  A Federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid.  Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree.  Grants start from $740.00 to $7,395.00 and students are able to apply online (click this link to go to our Financial Aid Section).
